Ministry Opportunities
Student Pastor / Student Ministries Director
Summary:
The role of “Student Pastor” is to encourage spiritual growth and fellowship in the youth (ages 11-18) of Forward Church through intentional opportunities such as, but not limited to: worship services, Bible studies, discipleship and/or ministry training, camps, and fun outings. This individual will work hand-in-hand with the Lead Pastor on determining best approaches, content, and schedule.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience in leading student ministries (“youth group”) at a like-minded church
- Associates or Bachelor's degree (or higher) or studies in student ministry related fields. “Bible college”, DSOM, or Berean-style track also acceptable if AG/Pentecostal belief-based
- Membership of an Assemblies of God church or equivalent preferred
- Ministerial credentials (licensed or ordained) with the SC Assemblies of God district is preferred or credentialed with a similar organization. Ministerial credentials are not required, but would determine designation of “pastor” title.
Responsibilities and Requirements:
- Take lead in developing opportunities for students (“youth”) and oversee Kids Club (lead and develop leaders)
- Main hosting responsibilities for services, Bible studies, and other such gatherings
- Work with Lead Pastor on developing events, schedule, and content
- Help recruit, train, and care for (check-in, encourage, pray with) student ministry
leaders/volunteers
- Determine and stick with an office hours schedule in collaboration with Lead Pastor
- Attend all staff and team leader meetings, faithfully attend worship services and other events
- Tithes to Forward Church and/or to SC District (if credentialed, using set secular/ministry ratio)
- Seek out and support opportunities for student ministry related events with the SC Assemblies of God district
Compensation: TBD (housing allowance)
